Bird Show

Come and learn more about fascinating birds during the summer holidays at Den Blå Planet, National Aquarium Denmark.

Falconer Mark Emil, also known as BirdNerd, visits and he will bring the owl Atlas and the vulture Mali. The birds have been going through environmental training at Den Blå Planet since they were about five weeks old to get used to the surroundings, and later they have undergone flight training.

Now the large young birds are ready to demonstrate their flying skills on selected days during the summer holidays at the Wild Pond. The bird show lasts about 30 minutes, and along the way, BirdNerd will enlighten you with facts about birds.

Besides that, the birds are fascinating, there is an important reason to show them and communicate about them: The hooded vulture is a critically endangered species, and it is our goal to raise awareness so we can help preserve it in the wild. Come and hear more about why certain bird species are critically endangered and what we can do to prevent it.

The bird show starts at 3 PM at the Wild Pond on the selected dates. The flight demonstration lasts about 30 minutes, and afterward, there will be an opportunity to ask questions.

Note: In very bad weather, where it is not possible to fly the birds outdoors, Mark Emil will instead bring other exciting animals, which he will present indoors by the bird cliff (aquarium 12).
