The Danish National Aquarium is deeply committed to science and nature conservation. We think of ourselves as nature’s ambassadors, and therefore feel obligated to call attention to the growing threat from plastic pollution.
Every year, 10 million tonnes of plastic end up in the world’s oceans, where plastic bags, car tyres, disposable lighters and microplastic form huge islands of plastic, which together make up an area the size of Africa.
A wave of change is needed, and the National Aquarium Denmark has joined forces with national and international stakeholders to create an ocean without plastic.
