Uncertain future

Many of the Indian barbers are threatened. Only a few species are rated by IUCN. This Indian Barb is very rare in aquariums, so if the rivers are polluted there is not much opportunity to save the species. That is why we have chosen to have this species on Den Blå Planet. Then we can breed them if the natural stock turns out to be eradicated.
